It's Time (to cave)

3 years. 3 years since I completed my only master work.
Yet in the time since, my real life has expanded so much, and I stand now in an area of influence, with growing notoriety and public presence, at least in my local film community. I have close friends now. A private and professional life.
Trolling is fun, don't get me wrong. I love it. I do it outside of the internet, even. But it's time I let go of Jake. (Of course, I'm sure many will say "I knew it!".)
Not even because I want to, but because I just don't have time for him any longer. I had all these plans for him, like a webcomic, or fanime… I have the means to do them, even. But I just have more important things to be doing. Every time I've tried to revive him lately, I've found myself busy with other things. He's not a priority, and he's mostly run his course. I've got other troll-fish to fry anyway.

But man, this was fun. I honestly did achieve what I set out to do: to create an abominable piece of fan fiction that could go down in web infamy. There were also some really cool people along the way.
There's a long story behind all this, of course, and I'll field questions if people want. But yes, Jake is dead. He never existed. I thought of making this post a full-length examination of everything; a sort of blow by blow of how things were planned out, but I figured I'd just answer what people were curious about. I'm also a mildly interesting person outside of this, if anybody's curious. Seeing as how Jake's, er, "fan base" had dwindled, and that I had him say some pretty awful things, there's a distinct possibility nobody gives a shit about either.
But I guess I don't either, really. Jake was fun when I had nothing else, before I was blossoming creatively and making connections. Now he's just old-hat, a fun piece of the puzzle of my past. I've got so much more on my plate now. All that being said...

You sir, did an EXCELLENT job with your character "Jake"! I was completely fooled, but somehow in the back of my mind I had a feeling "Jake" was a bit over-the-top to be real. That, or if he WAS real he needed to be locked up for the safety of others! You should go into writing novels for real, if you haven't done so already. You have great imagination and a great talent for bringing your characters to life. Great job!
